After you finish
Stay seated until proctors dismiss the room. Results follow the local host schedule — often about two months later. Certificates do not expire, but some employers want recent sittings.
How to use the official overseas list
- Open jlpt.jp overseas hosts.
- Find your country row and city.
- Note whether July, December, or both are marked for the current year.
- Follow only that host’s registration instructions and payment channel.
- When the admit notice arrives, trust it for the building — not a screenshot from a previous sitting.
Cities are added and removed between years. If a city you want is missing, pick the nearest listed city you can legally reach, or wait for the next published table.
Universal packing and room rules

- Passport or the exact photo ID listed at registration
- HB pencils, eraser with sleeve removed, simple analog watch
- Phone powered off and stored away from the desk

Timeline that prevents no-shows
Registration week: complete the correct host form the day the window opens if seats are scarce.
Four weeks out: book transport/hotel only after you know the city is offered.
One week out: dry-run the door-to-desk walk if local; pack ID photocopies if the host wants them.
Night before: pack stationery; charge navigation devices that will stay outside the room.
Morning of: leave early on purpose. Being first in the hallway beats a perfect grammar score in a taxi queue.
Scoring reminder
Wherever you sit, pass rules are global: total scaled score plus sectional minimums. Logistics get you into the chair; sectional readiness keeps you from failing a strong total with one weak section.
Why we refuse permanent address lists
Publishing “Building B, Room 12” from a prior year causes wrong-gate arrivals. Hosts reassign capacity every sitting. PrepMyJapanese city pages explain registration and logistics; your admit notice owns the street address.
